About

normalityrelief is a term I coined a few years back, not really considering the greater depth of meaning it would hold for me as I carried on with my life.  It means just what it sounds like it means: a relief, a temporary respite from that which normal.

But how can normal even be defined? It must be defined only on a personal level, for each & every individual. When you see something that surprises you, makes you laugh, makes you sad – anything that causes you to act or feel or think in a way that is different than your daily mindset – that’s a relief from the normal. And everyone needs it at least once a day. It keeps life interesting & exciting.

My name is Dave. I’m a former non-profit executive turned photographer. It had something to do with the ties. I hate wearing ties. That, & I grew up surrounded by arts of all sorts, & I finally realized I wasn’t completely happy unless I was actively engaged in them in my life. Now I just have to figure out how to get paid for them…

This website is the nexus of all that I’m engaged in: photography, travel, life, & fun.

I thrive on interaction. If you’re of a mind to do so, leave a comment. Or just skip that route & go straight to the source.
