For anyone out there even remotely interested in photography, Photoshop, and/or web design, there’s this ultra-hip Seattle-based organization called CreativeTechs. Their primary focus is offering Mac support for small-to-mid sized companies, but that’s not why I’m posting about them today (although I have every reason to believe they excel at such things).

I bring them up here to raise awareness of their absolutely STELLAR live – & freeonline training webinars. I’ve been attending since their June 2009 4-week photography class hosted by John Greengo – Art Wolfe’s photography assistant on Travels to the Edge (with Art Wolfe), all around excellent photographer, & a seemingly endless bank of knowledge about all that is photography. After that, I was hooked.

Since then I’ve been attending a 10-week Digital Photography course, a 6-month Adobe Photoshop course hosted by the incomparable Jason Hoppe – who can do practically anything with that one piece of software – a 10-week Adobe Lightroom course – which has increased my efficiency & organization with respect to photography many times over – along with others that I can’t seem to recall at the moment. They’re highly informative, & really just a good time with great people. The individual classes cost $15 to download (along with course materials if there happen to be any), but if you attend the live webinar (hosted by the GoToWebinar.com) it’s completely free. Rarely does one find this kind of professional training from these kinds of professionals for free.

So, to end how I began, if any of these areas interest you, check them out. You don’t have to be a professional or have any kind of credentials, you just need a computer with an internet connection. Trust me. You’ll learn more than you would’ve thought, & you’ll thank yourself (& maybe even me!) later.
