Homemade Paper-Part 1
That’s today’s project. I’ve never tried it before, but I’ve completed the first step – constructing a paper-making screen – so I’d be remiss if I didn’t continue on to the actual making of paper, the process for which I found over at the eternally fun to browse wikiHow.com. I want to play around with fun & interesting ways of mounting photos using handmade paper; I think it could turn out nicely! Aside from that though, the options seem practically limitless: greeting cards, thank-you cards, get-well cards, thinking of you cards, birthday cards…
Just messing around. Really though there are all sorts of applications for homemade paper (photography & cards aside). A canvas for painting comes to mind. Very original & potentially ineffective placemats. Toilet paper for those who want to prove they have no nerve sensations.
Fine, it’s fun, ok? Or at least I imagine it will be. First I need to make sure this ridiculously heavy screen works (used a veeeeery dense wood I found in a Chicago alley). Any other thoughts on uses out there? Not that I’m desperate or anything…
